Main Activities
The Policy & Cooperation Center (PCC) sees its main activities in the development of knowledge-based technical solutions to integrate the strategic concepts into practice within global issues such as chemical risk, climate change and open innovation.
As a part of these efforts, on the basis of global partnership, PCC is conducting R&D-based projects for developing core & fusion technology, and providing technical/regulatory consulting for effective compliance with REACH, a newly-introduced chemical regulation in the EU, but also other global chemical regulations tightening by each national government.
In order to achieve Low Carbon Society, PCC also focuses on exploiting ICT technologies to develop intelligent application services for users with an emphasis on energy efficiency management systems, smart home technologies, and ubiquitous computing. Furthermore, PCC leads the development of strategies on GHG emission reductions on the industrial level and municipalities.
Besides the aforementioned R&D activities regarding chemical risk and climate change, GKRC takes a role as a base for extending R&D networks between Korea and EU in terms of personnel and information exchange, and technology transfer.
