On Friday, the September 06th, a new contact office of the Jeonbuk Techno Park opened its doors at KIST Europe. Among other things, it is intended to promote the establishment of korean companies in Saarland in the future.
This is called the 'Global Bio-Technology Cooperation Centre' and will serve as a new point of contact for biotech companies from te Jeonbuk State looking to settle in Saarland. It will also promote cooperation between companies and research institutes in the biotechnology and biomedicine sectors. In addition, the participants from Jeonbuk Techno Park and gwSaar signed a cooperation agreement at the opening ceremony. According to gwSaar, this will further expand the existing cooperation between Saarland and Korea. ‘The agreement offers practical support for biotechnology companies from Jeonbuk that want to expand into Germany and Europe,’ says Mr. Gyu Taek Lee, president of the Techno Park. When it comes to the details, the new agreement will serve as a ‘bridgehead’ for companies from both countries and promote settlements in the global market, according to Lee. ‘With its innovative companies and start-ups, South Korea is a special partner for Saarland. We are pleased to take a further step in Saarland-Korean cooperation,’ said Strukturholding CEO Thomas Schuck. ‘KIST Europe enjoys an excellent reputation in Saarland' The new liaison office is an outstanding addition to the institute,’ says Saarland's Minister of Economic Affairs Jürgen Barke. He believes that the deepening of Saarland-Korean cooperation will benefit both sides. In the future, research and industry will be able to network better in the fields of biotechnology and biomedicine. This will promote Saarland as a business location, says Barke. |
