On Feb 08. 2019, Mr. Dooyoung Lee, Consul General at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bonn, visited KIST Europe along with Science Attaché Jin Hyung Kim. Their visit led to a discussion on promoting future research cooperation between Germany and Korea.

Prior to that, Mr. Dooyoung Lee and his delegation visited the state government of Saarland to meet with Mr. Jürgen Lennartz, head of the State Chancellery, and Ms. Charlotte Britz, Saarbrücken’s mayor.

In particular, he mentioned closer cooperation among both countries’ research institutions in regard to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

It was his first official visit to KIST Europe and Saarbrücken following his inauguration on November 16, 2018. Dr. Junkyung Kim, director of KIST Europe, welcomed his visit as an opportunity to explain KIST Europe’s achievements over the past 23 years and to elaborate on its current management style.
