KIST Europe offers a huge stage for korean
start-ups into Europe by launching the ‘EU-Hub’ with its own cooperative platform,
co-working with the Saarland government.

On June 28, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST)
signed a business agreement with IBK, the German state of Saarland, and the
government of Saarland at IBK's headquarters in Seoul, to support Korean
startups to enter Europe.

The agreement between KIST, IBK, and the
government of Saarland, Germany, is designed to support the successful entry of
startups from IBK's incubators in Saarland into Europe and their local
commercialisation.

Under the agreement, KIST Europe, IBK, and
the Economic Promotion Agency of the State of Saarland, Germany, will establish
the IBK Changgong Europe base at KIST Europe in Saarland, Germany, and jointly
operate an integrated support programme for domestic startups to enter Europe
from the second half of this year.

Through the integrated support platform
(EU-Hub), companies participating in the programme will be able to receive
one-stop services for their European expansion from the pre-establishment stage,
including consulting on the pre-establishment process, participation in support
programmes in the German state of Saarland, and connection to local networks in
Germany.

Based on its 27 years of know-how in
supporting companies entering Europe, KIST Europe will provide infrastructure
to IBK incubators and help Korean startups building local networks in Germany
and Europe.

"We plan to actively support Korean
startups to expand into Europe by linking the IBK Changgong programme with KIST
Europe's support platform for domestic companies," said Yoon Seok-jin,
President of KIST.

IBK Changgong is IBK's startup
support platform, which provides tailored fostering programmes for each stage
of growth, from investment and financing support to consulting, promotion, and
market development.
