Dr. Soo Hyun Kim, Director of KIST Europe, delightfully welcomed the branch opening of the first-settled organization in the platform 'InSaar'.

On July 17th 2023, Korea Confirmity Laboratories (KCL), Korea's largest testing and certification institute hosted an branch opening ceremony, which were attended by around 20 guests such as Jürgen Barke, Minister of Economics, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy Saarland, Thomas Schuck, Managing Director of gwSaar and so on.

At the ceremony, KCL announced that they will actively support korean industries in exporting their medical devices through the german branch, since the EU's medical device management system has been strengthened from the Medical Device Directive (MDD) to the Medical Device Regulation (MDR). KCL will try to resolve the difficulties faced by those issues in Korea.

Moreover, KCL is planning to develop a practical method of animal replacement testing with KIST Europe and to carry out own business areas such as biotechnology and chemical hazard assessment.
