On Mar 21, 2019, H.E. Mr. Seung-hyun Moon, ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Prague, Czech Republic, recently visited KIST Europe along with Second Secretary Inhee Cho to receive information on the histories of KIST Seoul, KIST Europe, and their cooperative research network with various European institutes and universities—a network that is especially value in light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The visit began with KIST Europe Director Junkyung Kim outlining the institute’s Business Management Plan and explaining how research cooperation with certain Czech institutions (i.e. CIIRC CTU, CVUT) led to the first multilateral KOREA-EU research and innovation excellence platform in the area of intelligent manufacturing, with a strong focus on collaborative robotics. H.E. Mr. Moon weighed in on the high demand for additional research cooperation coming from a number of Czech research institutions, many of which have been collaborating with Korean and German organizations on such things as increased investments in infrastructure. He encouraged KIST Europe to stay in contact with the Korean embassy in the Czech Republic so that closer networking among Korea, the Czech Republic, and Germany can be established. |
